Hello, all,
Looking for some new ideas. My little one has his favorites, but we need to throw some variety in there or he'll wind up as picky as his preteen sister.
So far we've done purees of: apple-pear-blueberry, banana-strawberry, banana-justabouteverything, sweetpotato-apple, yam-apple, sweetpotato-cream cheese, carrot... and in the beginning, peas, green beans, peaches, pears, and anything else Gerber made that I felt like duplicating at home.
My son is nearly 14 mo now and, since I have no local friends, no sounding boards, I'd like to know what you feed/fed your kids at that age. I try to make his purees very chunky at this point (total of eight teeth so far). Every now and then I sneak a well-boiled egg into his pureed oatmeal or rice, but I don't think he's getting enough protein. He doesn't always go for pureed mom-and-dad food (i.e. pot roast works okay, bulgogi does not), and small chicken pieces is hit-or-miss depending on the tides, alignment of the planets, etc.

Would love some feedback.

(Now I'm all hungry!)

Peanut butter isn't recommended until at least age three (I have heard some say five). Because it is such a condenced form of peanuts it can be serious if the child ends up being allergic.

hmm I hadn't heard that. Our pediatrician told us to wait until after a year. We waited a little longer than that but she isn't allergic luckily!

Cool. It is more important for families with known allergies or eczema and stuff like that. Also as a choking hazard. SOunds funny, doesn't it, choking on peanut butter.
