I hope this is allowed and you all can help me:

My nephew is 7 months old, breastfed, and is just starting solids. While my sister in law was pregnant I came across a nifty little item that is similar to a pacifier, but instead of a nipple, there is a fine mesh baggie in which Mom can put a piece of fruit or steamed veggie. Baby chews and knaws on the baggie, and only a fine mash of the food comes out (less choking risk, baby can self pace how much he eats). She thought the idea was awesome and I hope to find these dealies before Christmas, when he will really be teething and into solids. Can anyone direct me to them? Thank you so much!

I have seen them at Babys R Us and Target. Target was much cheaper. They were in the baby feeding aisle, across from the bottles, near the sippy cups.

I am sorry that I wasn't active in the list during that time. Did you have luck finding it and what was your experience with it if you did. I chose not to use one.

Indeed, we found them at Target. My sister in law chose not to use one for feeding per se, but she loved the security it gave when she got around to giving him frozen apple slices or ice for teething. It made him feel a -lot- better, especially for his top teeth. It was a bit scary - after 15 minutes with it, there were a bunch of small, chokeable bits that he wouldnt have known to chew yet. He's choked twice already under close supervision, so in the teething aspect, it was a godsend.
